The Group has three businesses: Toumaz UK covering health technology solutions, Toumaz Microsystems covering the design and development of semiconductor chips and Frontier Silicon supplier of semiconductor module and software solutions for digital radio and connected audio systems.
Toumaz Healthcare provides wireless healthcare monitoring solutions for the hospital and home health markets. Toumaz's licensable smart sensor interface and transceiver platform, Sensium, is a leader in real-time wireless monitoring of the body's vital signs. Sensium has the potential to transform medical monitoring and reduce the cost of healthcare by wirelessly connecting individuals to healthcare providers - simply, affordably and unobtrusively. For healthcare professionals, this creates new opportunities for pro-active monitoring and improved quality of care. Frontier Silicon’s audio products offer solutions for DAB/DAB+, Internet radio and connected audio - from silicon through software to production-ready platform designs.
Toumaz is an AIM listed company (AIM: TMZ) with development centres in Abingdon,UK and Cambridge in the UK and Shannon in the Irish republic. There are also Sales and Technical Support teams in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Germany, France and Japan.
Company History
Toumaz Ltd was incorporated on 14 February 2005 originally under the name Nanoscience in the Cayman Islands and was admitted to AIM as an investment company on 30 March 2005. The Company was established to build a portfolio of investments in the nanotechnology sector.
In November 2005, Nanoscience acquired the entire issued share capital of Toumaz Technology in a reverse takeover transaction and, via Toumaz, a significant interest in Future Waves.
In 2008, the company was renamed Toumaz Holdings Ltd. to reflect the primary focus of the Group’s activities.
In May 2009, the company fully acquired Future Waves, purchasing the approximately 75% of the stock not already owned by the company in an all share deal.
In June 2010, the company was renamed Toumaz Ltd.
In 2011, the company established Toumaz Microsystems with investment and support from Imagination Technologies Group plc (Imagination), the new entity includes all wireless semiconductor design and development business. At the same time, the company established Toumaz Healthcare to drive health technology solutions.
